Fried Green Tomatoes

Fried Green Tomatoes
green tomatoes, 1/4 inch slices
salt & pepper
cornmeal
bacon grease or vegetable oil

Salt & pepper each slice of tomato. Press each side into cornmeal. Place in pan of hot grease or oil, and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side (until lightly golden). When cooked, place on paper towel to absorb some remaining grease or oil. Serve hot.
